Well, Thanksgiving has come and gone and I've played through the Alpha version of Gromas Mines. It was quite impressive. All of the architecture is there and most everything works without a hitch. The artwork and models all look great.

Things that will be improved upon will be the explosion of the Mine Facility, some sound effects, getting the Moldy Crow and Dark Trooper into the map, finishing the secrets and getting some play puzzles and traps put back into the game.

Look forward to some new screen shots in the enar future.

Well, I just totaled the number of downloads from all of our mirrors, as of 11/18/2004: 9499 so far! That's 1,899,800 MB (1.899.800) of data or nearly 2,000 GB!!

I'm blown away!

UPDATE: All foreign language strings are updated and remaining bugs are fixed . . . at least the ones we could fix are fixed. A couple of minor things remain, but we can't seem to do anything about them.

As soon as we have a distribution that tests out on at least 5 peoples PC's, we will release. I'm hoping for Wednesday at the latest. It takes a day to get on Lucasfiles.com and mirrored correctly, so if we upload Tuesday that will work. That means everyone has to test it on Monday and report positive feedback. That is pushing the time limit because the build won't be ready until Sunday and half the team is in Europe or Australia so that pushes them out 9 to 8 hours ahead. It might be Tuesday for them before they get it installed and tested . . . ah the logistics of a worldwide game development team.

hang in there, it's done, we just have to make sure it works!

The installer is basically finished. Fracman is finishing the remaining string translations while I work on the remaining two bugs - a phantom Concussion Rifle that likes to appear on the Weapons Inventory screen and the "Weapon Ammo Depleted" message that appears when you select "fists." I have a feeling both of these errors are here to stay for the demo at least. They don't affect gameplay at all, so it's time to cut our losses and release this thing already . . .
